Hexaflumuron is a benzoylurea insecticide, an inhibitor of insect chitin synthesis that kills termites during molting and causes sterility in adults, as well as having a strong ovicidal effect.
When worker termites take food, it is passed on to other termites in the colony through feeding, resulting in the constant death of termites.
The death of worker termites can cause starvation and extinction of the whole colony. Hexaflumuron kills more than 90% of the population within 9 weeks when controlling house termites and reticulitermes.
